Stuttgart/Leipzig, April 23, 2007. Yesterday in Leipzig, Dr. eng. h.c.F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, designated Magna Powertrain Germany GmbhH, Roitzsch as Supplier of the Year.
The enterprise has been collaborating since 2002 with the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer, and convinces above all through its outstanding achievements in the development
and manufacturing of drive shaft systems and components. In this way Magna Powertrain supplies the distribution drives for the sports terrain vehicle Cayenne.
In addition to Magna Powertrain, the Porsche chairs Holger P. Härter (Finance and Business Administration) and Michael Macht (Production and Logistics) awarded nine other
Porsche suppliers for their outstanding achievements in the business year of 2005/06: Thyssen-Krupp Automotive Systems GmbH (Bochum), Lear Corporation GmbH (Böblingen),
Conti-Tech Kühner GmbH & Cie. KG (Oppenweiler), HS Genion GmbH (Krailling), SUSPA Holding GmbH (Altdorf), Arvin-Meritor Emissions Technologies GmbH (Augsburg), REGE
Engine Parts GmbH & Co. KG (Hörselberg/Eisenach), APL Vehicle Testing Technique Landau GmbH (Landau) as well as Kühne & Nagel (AG & Co.) KG, Frankfurt am Main.
The chair of the board of directors for Porsche AG, Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, stressed in front of around 3005 guests in the customer centre in the Leipzig facility how important
a good cooperative relationship between Porsche and its suppliers is: "We can only successfully defend our top position if we build vehicles that are better than those of
all competitors. In this capacity every single part counts, no matter how small."
Wiedeking stressed supplier reliability as an important factor of success: "Our clients expect premium vehicles and will not tolerate defects. Therefore we will only
consider as potential suppliers for Porsche those who are willing to produce the highest level of achievement. Every year we identify excellent partners through the Porsche
Supplier Award - as a standard for all others." According to the Porsche CEO, demands would become even higher in the future. With the Gran Turismo Panamera a new chapter
will be written in the Porsche's history of success. For this fourth production line which will hit the market in 2009 the sports car manufacturer will need the full delivery
power of its suppliers.
